The Green Acton Water Committee invites you to the fourth in our series of educational forums about water issues of concern to Acton, to be held on June 8, 7–8:30pm, by Zoom. This year’s forum will take the generalized concept of “the water cycle” and apply it to the specific situation of Acton. Register for the event: https://bit.ly/3sNWGMC.

If you are curious about Acton’s drinking water — where it comes from; how it moves through the ground; the past history and future predictions for precipitation in our region; what happens to water after it goes down the drain; and other, related topics — you are our intended audience! If you would like to understand more about how your actions can help keep Acton’s waters clean and plentiful — you are the intended audience.

The format leverages the interactive features of the Zoom platform. Each topic will begin with a brief introduction from the Water Committee, followed by an interactive poll to find out (anonymously) what Acton residents already know about or care about within that topic, followed by a reveal of the poll results, followed by remarks on that topic by a knowledgeable speaker. The presenters are from the Green Acton Water Committee (Moderator Norm Strahle, Kim Kastens, and Lucy Kirshner), the Town of Acton Water Resources Advisory Committee (Mike Geis), the Town of Acton Sustainability Office (Andrea Becerra), and the Acton Water District (Erika Amir-Lin, Matt Mostoller, and Alexandra Wahlstrom). A Q&A will follow the presentations.

The event will be recorded. A link to the recording, slides from the presenters, citations for further exploration on the presented topics, and answers to any questions that we didn’t have time to answer during the event, will all be posted on the Green Acton website. If you have questions about the forum, please reach out to water-contact@greenacton.org.
