In 2016 Green Acton became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation. This represents an evolution from Green Acton’s early years as an unincorporated association with a small Steering Committee as the only formal governance structure, and was accomplished via a merger with ACES — Acton Citizens for Environmental Safety, Inc.
Much of the detailed work of Green Acton is accomplished by committees.
