EnergizeActon.org, part of the Acton Climate Coalition, is working with the Town of Acton and Abode Energy Management on a new “Energy Advocate” program, which will train volunteers to help people with electrification of their homes/buildings, as well as with other energy efficiency and renewable energy measures (e.g., heat pump technology, solar power, electric vehicle transitions, and access to renewable energy). These trained advocates will help residents learn about lowering the carbon impacts of their homes and activities, and will help expand the scope and speed of the building and broad decarbonization work needed to achieve the town’s 2030 Net Zero emissions goal (as established by the Climate Emergency Declaration passed at the 2020 Acton Town Meeting).
We expect the training for the first batch of 10 volunteers to happen in September. You can learn more about this opportunity, and potentially register your interest here: https://abodeem.jotform.com/221447791093056. If you have questions about the coaching role before submitting this interest form, please reach out to sustainability@acton-ma.gov and ryan@abodeem.com.
