Acton Clean-Up Day started in South Acton long ago. It was originally organized by Betsy Eldridge, whose son, State Senator Jamie Eldridge, helped expand the event to the entire town.

Clean-Up Day has usually been conducted on a Saturday in late April. Sponsorship has rotated through the years, and has included: the Acton Conservation Trust (ACT), the Acton Climate Action Team (ACAT), the Acton Democratic Town Committee (ADTC), and Green Acton. Green Acton sponsored cleanup days in 2010–2013, but not in 2014. The event was missed by many, and work is underway to revive it for 2015. Stay tuned, or even better, contact us to offer your help.
